Poseidon's School In Poole Is Closing

Poseidon's School In Poole Is Closing

Posted by Christopher Burke on

From November this year our school in Poole will be closing permanently.
It's been a decision which hasn't been easy for Chris and Gig, but in the end it's no longer viable for us to keep operations running in Poole. We've been welcomed so warmly to the community in Cornwall, and our move here has opened many doors providing new opportunities with the industry that need our full attention.
The school in Poole was the start of putting a dream in motion for Chris and reflecting on 11 years of Poseidon Poole, we are stoked to highlight some amazing moments together, on the water, in the air and at the bar.
We've been lucky to become such a big part of the local community and proud to have helped so many people on the journey through the sports we love ourself.
Lessons, storm sessions, UK adventures, overseas adventures, downwinders, beach BBQs, competitions, socials and Christmas parties were all a part of the picture for us and we thank everyone who has been a part of the journey.

As passions, priorities and focus evolves, it's been so exciting to follow a path of developing more advanced training and retail from our base in Newquay. It's been a blast and we're so grateful for everyone of our team, customers and community who have continued to support or be a part of what Poseidon does and represents in both Poole and Newquay.
But as doors have opened in the west, sadly the industry has been hit by a shortage of kite instructors worldwide, which together with rising costs and reduced margins make it impossible for us to keep the school running in a way which reflects our ethos.
We thank our school team for all their hard work and professionalism and also our customers who have been patient through our shortages.
For customers who still have credit with us, rest assured we are ready to honour this, with the choice to transfer to our site in Cornwall, to a pre arranged provider in Dorset, or spend in our shop. Please check more HERE and contact us with any questions.
So while it leaves a heavy hole that we pull out of training in Poole this November, it’s not because Poseidon is winding back, quite the opposite. We’re ramping things up, with the Kernow Foil Classic just around the corner, winter projects in the pipeline and road trips planned for 2025, as always we have our finger on the pulse of the latest kit and are ready to help people progress.
So hit us up, keep in touch, let us be your go-to for kit and coaching or simply let us know when you want to score a sesh together.
Drop us a line if you have any questions and keep shredding.
