This Autumn, Daymer Bay will play host to the Kernow Foil Classic, a surf style Wing and Prone foiling competition.
Run over a weekend with suitable wind, swell and tide conditions, a tournament of heats will crown an overall winner in the main event. Backed up by a team expression session, a media session and a Satrday night social, this rider driven event creates a platform for riders to showcase the best of UK surf style foil riding.

The beautiful Daymer Bay will be the play ground for this event. Its' point break which reforms into a bowled beach break and natural amphitheatre makes for the perfect foil and event site.

Holding Dates
The event will run over a weekend when the wind and swell forecast is deemed sufficient for Wing + Prone riders to be able to perform. We have 3 provisional dates on standby, with a decision to go ahead or push back made before 12pm on the Thursday before:
Plan A: 21st - 22nd October
Plan B: 4th - 5th November
Plan C: 18th - 19th November

Provisional Event Plan
Exact heat timing, judging criteria and overall day plans will be driven by the conditions and rider numbers. A mandatory riders briefing will be held 1 hour before the first possible heat start which will outline necessary info. Riders will be notified 24 hours early if the riders briefing time changes.

All competition heats will aim to be completed on Saturday. Sunday will be considered a back up day, but also a media capturing day. We will also aim to run an expression session team event.

You can confirm your place by completing this form, making payment and following email instructions to complete a medical form.
We are restricting the event to 24 entrants per discipline (riders can enter both). We request riders to sign up as early as possible. Entry will be closed 24 hours before the start of the event going ahead.

Main Competition Format (Saturday)
Riders will compete in judged 2-5 person heats of up to 20 minutes, progressing in a tournament format to a final.
With a Wing and Prone discipline to run on the same day, riders can enter, either or both.
Winners will be awarded prizes from event sponsors.

Time permitting we aim to run an expression session comp on Sunday - joining with up to 8 people (prone or wing), note your team name below, more info on this over the weekend.

To go ahead we'll be looking for conditions within the following parameters:
Wind Direction: WSW-W-NW-N (best in a NW).
Wind Strength: 13-35 knots
Swell Size: 4+ feet, best with a long swell period.
Swell Direction: W-NW-NNW

Evening social and camping
Bluntrock Brewery are ready to welcome us in for food and drinks from 6pm - 11pm.
We'd recommend staying at Higher Penmayne Farm campsite or the Pity Me Inn hotel.
