The Weekly Wash | Cold but Gold

Posted by Christopher Burke on

It's been a while, a long while.
Winter took hold here the last few days, snow firmly settled on the ground. I've looked out the neoprene extras we all hate to wear and I'm embarrassed to admit I broke my personal rule and have already rocked 5mm suit before December.

I try to hold off as long as possible and save the warmth upgrade as a treat deeper in the dark months, but it got baltic the same time Daymer served up a day not to be missed.
Lucky I did opt for warmth, a 50 knot squall punched in followed by eerie calmness resulting in limping a round trip back to my start at Daymer via hawkers, Padstow and Rock.
A great reminder how in these colder more unstable months it's important to be sensible and prepare for the worst, dressing for safety, not comfort. Things happen quick, the cold sets in even quicker.
The session was also a good reminder of how bloody good winter riding in the UK is, some great moments were had by many as swell held it's shape for nearly a mile down the estuary. Parawinging at it's best!

There's no bad weather, you just need the right kit.

I am aware Poseidon Marketing dropped off a cliff through Autumn, The Kernow Foil Classic took lots of my attention, we made some big steps at our house (after a year at it we moved from a caravan into a functioning first floor). Together with the usual kit demos, sales, coaching and glory sessions in my favourite time of year things have been busy and my online presence dwindled.
So I wanted to say a big thanks to the loyal shredders who continue to choose to shop and learn with Poseidon.

For me Poseidon is about quality, knowledge, experience and service. Whilst my web updates might be behind you can rest assured my knowledge and advice is always up to date and my demo fleet is ready to be ridden. I'm here to help you get the best from your sessions and it's refreshing to know people value that.
For those I don't have a report with, feel free to call, I'm always eager to help improve your time kiting or foiling.
Ask me to price match or do a deal and i will always do my best too.

Am aiming to be back to weekly wash flow now, video episodes are in the pipeline and I welcome any requests for written or video content.

For now, here's some news, product info and specials to add to the noise.

SALE

I feel about Black Friday like I do about AI.
Here's our sale page with some CRAZY BARGAINS, not because it's thanks giving in America, but because summer is over and we're clearing space on the shelves.

New and used, kite, foil, waterwear and apparel , we want to see it go to a new home so theres so mega prices and (especially on used kit) open to offers too.

Axis Surge

Axis have been bold in their claims about their surf focused foils before, I'm hearing this one could genuinely live up to the hype.
Excited to try it soon, they are pre-selling - so give a shout if you want to get your name on one soon

Slingshot

Are they making a come back? Did they ever go away?
With 3 riders in the king of the air this weekend and possibly the best foiling kite in the world in their range - their kite presence is strong.

Their foil game has recently stepped up too and having spent sometime on their foil recently I think it's a strong contender.
Whats more with Sam light now at the helm in the UK it's an exciting brand to watch.
Reach out if you want more info or would like to try one.

Manera

The Frenchies have been busy developing a new range of technical accessories. They're one of those brands that generally shoot left field and end up getting it right.

Solid offerings on the way.

Exciting mutterings from their big brother F-One too, but thats for further in the future.

Corrr they're good

Can't do a newletter without calling out the Code X and the Armie MA 2.
Have been spending quite a bit of time on these lately and they continue to impress.
If you like surf foiling and are on either system don't let these massive step ups pass you by!
