It's been a busy week here in Kernow. Code foils royalty rolled into town and together with a great turn out from the local scene we enjoyed wind, waves, sessions, food, beers and a movie premier which together solidified a reminder that community and culture is what makes the growing sport of foiling so much fun to be a part of. It reminds me of kiting in the early days, everyone is stoked for each other, pushing their limits in all new ways of riding that just keeps getting better and better. Thanks to all that joined a fun few days down here. I filmed an episode of the weekly wash with Josh and Ben, look out for that next week.
Also - some new products launched, long awaited deliveries from Armstrong got a little closer to the UK and a fresh batch of F-one kit landed, reach out for any of that.
But for me this week I'm mostly excited (aside from nearly getting a working bath in our home project) for releasing info on something I've been working on a while - A Cornwall School..
So this week's newsletter is mostly about that
Working with insurance, harbour authorities and brands I'm buzzing to now open bookings for KITE, WING, PRONE and TOW lessons + sessions across the county including from the very special Hayle river mouth.
It's something I've been wanting to develop for a while. I'd held back offering much training here as I believe one of the most important considerations for progression is conditions and most spots in Cornwall can be exposed or challenging. Together with the right advice and equipment, learning our relatively complicated sports in a suitable environment is the difference between a 3 day or 30 day journey to proficiency.
So, having received a rubber stamp from the Hayle Harbour master to use their flat water + wave breaks, worked together with our insurance provider on the greyness of surf foiling and added a Jetski to the fleet for safety and tows i'm now operational to offer sessions in our sports in all conditions for all levels as a mobile operation.
Spread the word and holla if you'd like to plan a sesh.
Lessons and sessions for total beginners to advanced riders in flat water and waves now available for this fast growing sport.
This one was exciting to bring together - Prone is a rapidly growing part of foiling here and I'm buzzing to get the right boxes ticked to be able to offer Prone foil surf training together with Tom Earl.
There's no better way to learn foiling than behind the consistent pull of a motor. There's no better was to learn to foil in waves than with an early whip into a swell line. Stoked to be able to offer both and excited to witness the shredding.
Kiting is what I know and love, having taught since 2002 it's a sport i know inside and out. I'm excited to keep helping more people get into this one.
Hayle is a dream spot, a go-to for all sports with flat water channels and waves which break or roll. My go-to for training when conditions allow. The beauty with Cornwall is that there is always a different environment just 15 minutes away, so the school will operate mobile to adapt to the conditions.
In advance or last minute, around the conditions or family commitments, it's all good. I'm running a diary and a 'conditions alert' mailing list putting quality and conditions first so lessons run as they should, tailored to individuals and to professional quality. All kit included, fully flexible with payment on the day.

There's something special about seeing other peoples stoke. That shine on someones face when you can see they're having a great time is almost infectious,...
