The breeze blew in a buzz of energy this week, it's been amazing to see the vibe and hear about so many awesome sessions.
It never ceases to amaze me how when conditions deliver somehow people can clear their schedule of work and/or find the funds for new toys. Life's for living, well done to the shredders who are finding a way to make the most of every moment.
This side, outside of sorting people new gear I've spent quite a bit of time coaching. kite, wing and tow sessions have all been on the cards and personally it's been awesome to spend time helping people progress. I've been coaching since 2002 and having taken the last few years focused on developing Poseidon's retail side, this last week has been a refreshing and rewarding return to helping people get better at the sports I also love.
Coaching is a direct reaction - we make a booking, I give some time and guidance, the student gives their all and improvements create smiles.
Retail can be much the same when someone wants advice or a demo of something new for their quiver and I pass on my knowledge as we chat through the options before they bite the bullet on an educated purchase which will be right for them, but you wouldn't believe how often I spend an hour on the phone helping advise someone on making a choice, for them to openly turn around and say they will now go buy it elsewhere.
I'm a big believer in honesty and integrity, for me I'll give my all to the things I believe in and that includes helping people who choose to shop and learn with Poseidon.
Adding training to our mix is more than just teaching beginner lessons. Being at the right beach, with the latest kit, the spare parts, the knowledge and the support, I'm able to offer local riders advice, repairs, demos, weather updates and same day deliveries and pick ups. These are things the local community has asked for since we opened in Newquay which I couldn't offer as I'd committed to a glossy bricks and mortar store. Walking a new path, more info of the Newquay store below.
And then - this newsletter is full of new kit - in case you didn't notice, Armstrong and Ozone have been busy. (click images to learn more)
